Join us on Wednesday 7th May for a free, mum-friendly walk in support of World Maternal Mental Health Day
As many as 1 in 5 new mothers experiences some type of perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMADs). These illnesses frequently go unnoticed and untreated, often with long-term consequences to both mother and child.
Additionally, it's also important to observe that the number of men who become depressed in the first year after becoming a dad is double that of the general population. Twenty five percent of dads experience mild depressive symptoms and around 10% to 12% have a diagnosis of depression. (nct.org.uk)
It’s time to make a change...
I'm delighted to be hosting this event, in my role as a This Mum Moves Ambassador, alongside the lovely Ami & Rachel from Blaze Trails.
This free walk is open to all abilities, mothers, babies, toddlers and their families and anyone wanting to support the day. The 2-mile route will see us leave from the central meeting point of Newbury Library and head along the canal towpath towards Northcroft, before turning back towards town and finishing with a lap of Victoira Park.
There is no cost to join us, just hit the button below to let us know you are coming (use the notes section to tell us how many you will be!)
